Have you ever doubted the historical accuracy or truthfulness of the Bible? Why or why not?

I have, especially as it relates to the accuracy of certain biblical translations. It is quite understandable for people to know, and potentially try to apply the game of “telephone” to the translations of the Bible, especially when the Bible was for so long an oral passing down of the given words God spoke to his people prior to being written down. However, when you study and find out just how accurate any passing down of the Word has been, it is something that is amazing and out of the ordinary for other literary works. This speaks of its power and authenticity. This alone is a reason to give it weight in the belief of the God of the Bible.

Yes. Stories of Jonah and Noah’s ark are hard to believe imagine. However, the fact that there is archeology to support the Bible and that many prophecies have been fulfilled is hard to deny. These things have increased my faith. The description of who God is remains consistent. The wisdom of the Bible is timeless. Scripture can be applied to our lives today. I know nothing is impossible for God.

Of course. There are things that you read in the Bible that defy logic and take a measure of faith to even comprehend. I’m still amazed at what is revealed to me through my reading. Even scripture I’ve ready 100 times before.

No, I haven’t. I have seen too many evidences of scientists and historians discovering facts and finds that show the truth in the Biblical narrative. It has been something ingrained from a young age. Even during my farthest point from God, I didn’t doubt the truthfulness of the Word.

At one point I studied Judaism and what I read made me question the New Testament, but now I have studied further and found that the anti missionaries don’t know what they are talking about.
