I don’t recall ever doubting the Bible’s historical accuracy of truthfulness. That there are different translations attest to the ever-changing nature of language, that is, what may have been understood to mean one thing at one point in history is later found to have been meant something else at the time the Bible was written. God in His wisdom never reveals more than we need to know at any one time; instead, He requires that we trust Him to faith that anything we need to understand we will, as the old song goes, “by and by.”

Doubted? That may be too strong of a word but I have questioned its accuracy over the years, especially with so many translations and versions out there. Recently, I have been seeing PC versions and revisions to translations that I held as accurate in the past. This is what troubles me. I do not doubt that the Bible is the Breath of God. I only question the accuracy of the translations. I researched and prayed long and hard to find the translation best for me and continue to pray for its accuracy.

I have never doubted the historical accuracy of the word i have only doubted its application to me. Some of the bible stories I know are true yet i sometimes wonder why those miracles/events do not happen in this present world. I often pray for miracles signs and wonders because I want to see heaven on earth.

No. I always thought that the Bible is correct in it’s translation. There are so many different translations and I find the easier ones are the New Living Testament but I have also used NIV and NASB. NIV is not hard to read but NASB was. I tried to use King James and even the New King James but found it rather difficult to read. One thing that the NIV does is that it gets to the message quickly rather that going through many of the detailed information like the NLT does. I decided that the NLT was to my liking and stuck with it even though it was longer, reading the passages. I believe that all the versions tend to be directed to the accuracy and truthfulness. The bible is so complex, that I do have a hard time understanding it at times. I have not read any other types of bibles other than ours.

Yes. With so many translations, and so many different interpretations, I thought the Bible must have been written by man, not by God. Also, because the Bible is difficult to understand when one doesn’t understand the culture of the time period it was written in. This causes misunderstandings and the appearance of contraindications.
