No. I was raised to trust in God’s word. Even when I ran from the Lord and was a prodigal son, I still believed in God and His word.

Amen! I have not once doubted in accuracy or truthfulness of the Bible. I was raised in a Christian home where the word of God have always been precious to us. His words will always imbedded in me. Jesus Christ is my amazing Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

I believe I only questioned the various translations that could ‘water down’ God’s word and/or misinterpret it’s meaning. I have learned that the New King James version seems
to be the closest to original and accurate translation.

Not really, since I already know that there’s a lot of historical records and archeological evidence to back up the events and dates described in the Bible.

I agree. In fact, there is more evidence for Jesus’s resurrection than for Julius Caesar’s existence or the death of Alexander the Great at age 33. And yet, few rational people doubt that Julius Caesar had lived or the age at which Alexander died. Why? They believed the evidence, scant though it might be!

Before I was born again, I use to read the Word to try and find a discrepancy (a mistake or contradiction) – which I would then use to prove that the Bible could not possibly be God’s Word. My attempt proved to be a futile one however. When I thought I found a contradiction, further investigation proved me wrong.

Since I’ve been born again, I personally have not doubted because I’ve read many writings concerning archeological evidence that proves the veracity of the Bible. Some were fairly recent too! When I read the Bible (approx 4 times) I find it fascinating the harmony that is written over a period of over a thousand years. There are 66 books and 40 authors that all seem to be telling a miraculous story of creation, the fall and sin, redemption and salvation. It is truly a book that IMHO is inspired by the Holy Spirit. I constantly find pearls, gems, nuggets of gold whenever I read God’s Word. Seems like the more I read His Word, the more He reveals to me. I always seem to catch something that I missed the first 4 times I’ve read it.

Have there been times where I have doubted the historical accuracy of the Bible? Yes. Especially when it is compared to the Avesta. I think the saving grace for me is the relational connection I have with the Holy Spirit and His divine intervention over my life.
