Have you ever felt like your prayers somehow didn’t measure up?

All the time, honestly. I have such a hard time praying in front of others. The fear of judgement is so strong. Even alone sometimes, I feel like I don’t fully give God the glory he deserves.

I used to , I compared myself to people who seemed to always have prayers flowing out with ease. I realized then that God wanted me to talk with Him, He didn’t ask me to be an orator. “ Cast your burden upon the Lord and He will care for you”. Talking to God in prayer is talking to someone I love with the respect due to His name. Then my prayers don’t have to measure up.

Yes, but I just remember what God said, that we know that when we pray according to His Word He hears us.

I used to be concerned about that. But the scriptures helped me get over that a long time ago. Usually my prayers come out as a conversation but I must say sometimes I hand my concerns over to the Spirit and sit in quietness and wait on the Lord.

I think when I feel distracted or don’t have the right way to form my thoughts, I get in my own head about how my prayer was expressed.
