Have you ever felt like your prayers somehow didn’t measure up?

Yes as a new believer I felt that way. I thought the prayer had to sound and be structured a certain way or it was not a good prayer. I don’t believe that anymore.

Of course, I know there have been times when I have been nonchalant with the Creator and not focused on who I’m speaking too. As I get older, I focus on taking time with my prayers and pausing to reflect how insignificant I am an how wonderful He is, so that I don’t take advantage of my prayer time.

Not sure I’ve ever felt this specifically, but I have felt like I wasn’t connecting with God or that He wasn’t listening.

I haven’t felt like my prayers don’t measure up, but I have felt like I didn’t measure up, and therefore if I don’t measure up, then maybe God will not answer my prayers, especially if they are prayers for me, and my life.

I have felt that way. Sometimes I pray for matters that I know are God’s will, but I wonder if I’m asking the right way. But I know that the Lord just wants us to pray and talk to Him in the same way we want our children to come and talk to us. This gives me great comfort.
