Have you ever felt like your prayers somehow didn’t measure up?

I like to read Psalms 23. All of the praying in the bible is valuable but I usually come up with my own prayers. I have a prayer for protection and studying the bible and I have a prayer for my long-term goals. I do need to start adding the Lord’s Prayer back into the conversation.

Of, course there were times in my life where I walked away from the faith, I got myself hurt and did not know Jesus from a can of paint. I ran into a witness in the streets, and she offered me a pamphlet. She reminded me that Jesus loved me, I agreed and took the pamphlet. I read it and envisioned Jesus as a middle-class God. I smiled after a while and then said in a very low voice, “Lord I forgot about you. I went home and prayed, but it only seemed like the burden got worse. My trauma caused me to lose my faith. Many years passed before I regained my relationship with God.

Yes, I have felt that there is no need to pray because he wont hear me. Praying wasnt worth it but the more i learned the more i wanted to do it

Absolutely, that’s one of the main reasons I’m taking this course. In just the few lessons I’ve gone over I’ve learned a lot about prayer. Thank God I have a relationship with Him and He has heard every prayer that I’ve prayed without judgement.
