Then I would have them compare it to one another. I would explain that Evolution is not a scientific fact. It is only a theory. According to science, a theory is only a guess that may be a possibility as the truth except there is no proof. Evolution is a theory that has been told so many times that people who don’t understand it claim it to be true. Also, remember that the theory of evolution was formulated to prove the superiority of a certain “race” and to prove that everyone else are slow “evolvers.”

Deleted User07/31/2021 at 22:17I have had a discussion about creation in my classroom. In AP psychology we discuss all of the psychological schools of thought. One of those schools is evolution. As we discuss this theory, it brings out a rich discussion on creation and the book of Genesis. Each year the discussion is different in specifics but the overall theme is the same. It helps the students to really take a look at their faith and see it as compared to what some science states.

Deleted User07/31/2021 at 10:53I had a great discussion about creation and evolution in my AP Calculus AB course. We were working through a problem about exponential decay, specifically, carbon dating. After working the problem, a discussion started about the accuracy of carbon dating and how to resolve the issues between the ages carbon dating gives us and the relatively young age of the earth found in the Bible. I explained that carbon dating is based on the evolutionary assumption that the earth has always had the same amount of carbon in the atmosphere. I then asked them what they think could have been drastic enough to perhaps change the amount of carbon? We concluded that the Flood probably had an effect on the amount of carbon. After doing a bit of research myself, I can confirm this conclusion ( https://answersingenesis.org/geology/carbon-14/doesnt-carbon-14-dating-disprove-the-bible/ ).
Next time, I would/will plan for these type of discussions to stem from working those types of problems and do some more research ahead of time so I can better guide my students to a biblical conclusion.
