I can only refer to my own childhood; where basically I learned evolution without dismissing it because a day for God could be thousands of years

We had many discussions about creation and evolution in my classes. I taught science with a curriculum that continually contrasted the two. I learned a lot myself, and often found myself rethinking the ways that I had been taught, appreciatively. Often, other teachers thought that I was teaching evolution because there were questions in the assignments about evolution vs. creation.

I teach evolution since I teach Honors Biology, an AP prep class for AP Biology. AP Biology has a strong foundation in evolution. Based on the NGSS standards, I teach the principles and evidence of evolution. Then, I assign students to find evidence of Creationism. I tell them how macro-evolution has a good set of evidence but there are too many faults or illogical reasoning.

We started a lesson today in Science about the human body. We discussed how God made man in His own image. We also discussed how God made Adam and put him in a deep sleep and took a rib from Adam to make Eve. We then discussed with a Venn Diagram how Man and Animals are different, alike, and the same. We broke it down where We can talk to God and God talks to us, however Animals are not able to take to God and God does not talk to animals. We just got started so we will go in more depth this week.
