I have not heard anything in our church that resembles these heresies but I have noticed a hint in some of the articles that I read from other ministers. Also on television and also in some of the books that I have read lately but scripture is undeniably the truth especially what galatians says and Isaiah and what is taught in Romans as well.

In my church, there is no one who upholds and preaches outright heresy. However, I am not surprised if there are some who, because of inadequate theology, border on heretical teaching without realizing it. There is one brother who thinks that man is basically good because Confucianism and Taoism says so; surprisingly he still professes Jesus as his Savior. There may be those elderly, lowly-educated folk who cannot deal with complex theology; they may think that the Son, being subservient to the Father, is not equal to the Father. Then there are those Christians or staff who, being very driven to hit preset goals and targets, work as if salvation depends on works, although they will most certainly confess that salvation depends on grace. That is, we may articulate perfect doctrine, but sometimes we live as if we do not really believe in it.
The best way to guard against heresy is, of course, by maintaining a regular, personal “diet” of the Bible. Attending a course on systematic theology may also help us to connect the dots between what we have read in the Bible.

I personally don’t know of these heresies being taught. There are newer heresies for people to run to at this point. Galations 1:8-9, John 3:16 and Isaiah 53 are pretty explicit in what they talk about being the truth.

In fact, I have never hear about heresy in my local church but in my community I have come across individuals who denied about the coming of Jesus on earth again. One person claimed that what make you to think that we are better that animals. He does not believe about life after leaving this earth.

I have not heard these great heresies within my local church. We study and seek out scripture so that we stay true to it! I have heard statements from believers, however, such as “God wants me to be happy.” When I hear something like that, I try to gently challenge people to show me in scripture where it states that. Referring back to scripture, studying it, and using it is how we guard against heresies and heretical statements.
