Have you memorized any Scripture? If so, how has that impacted your life? If not, how do you think you could begin to memorize Scripture?

Memorizing Scripture has been one of the most profound surprises in my life in this way. At the moments when I least expect it, God brings to my remembrance a verse that gives me clarity on what to do next. Sometimes I don’t remember the exact verse, but I remember enough to find it using an app like Bible Gateway and read it verbatim. This has often been the case when I am also journaling. I love it when God leads me from one thought to another based upon Scripture. There’s nothing quite so fulfilling as having come to God with a series of questions and walking away from my time with Him with the answers outlined based on His Word.

I have some. With my students it tends to be a good conversation starter about what a given scripture means and its context.

I have memorized scripture throughout my life. In my childhood, my pastor often quoted several of his favorite passages. He did so often that those words were embedded into my memories. In sunday school and vacation Bible school I was taught to memorize scripture. Those words are inscribed on my heart and when I am dealing with something or just going throughout my day, the scripture will come to mind. It is often a comfort to me. I need to practice memorization of scripture more now.

I have memorized many scriptures over my life. Growing up I went to a private christian school, and also attend Awana which was a big driving force for me to learn and memorize it. It’s been more impactful than ever in many circumstances when teaching and handling certain situations that occur in my life. I have also had the opportunity to learn new scripture at work as we always have a verse fr the school year as a part of our theme.

I have memorized scripture and need to incorporate it more in my life. I am able to minister to others better when I can speak with scripture into their lives. Also, the Lord brings scripture to my remembrance when I need it most. This lifts my spirits and gives me hope.
