I have memorized scripture. It really sticks with you that way, even when you memorize it as a kid. I would like to make memorization more of a daily habit because the impact I see it can have when verses just come to mind automatically is so helpful in teaching.

Yes, I try to memorize a new scripture every 2 weeks. I take he first week to focus on the meaning of it and the application of it to my life and take the second week to actually memorize it and apply it to my life and my teaching. I think through this I can give students relatable advice tied back to scripture so that I know it is a firm foundation to help answer their questions.

Scripture memorization is a beneficial practice:
– It reassures and encourages me, furnishing me with hope and strength during difficult times.
– It corrects my corrupt thinking and renews my mind, inspiring my faith and leading me closer to God.
– It provides clear directives and reminders to live a Godly life, bringing God’s blessings into my life.
– It also helps me to be confident in sharing God’s word with others. -
I have memorized a few pieces of scripture before and It has been super rewarding. I want to continue to strive to do this but tend to not practice this as much as I would like to because I get discouraged when I forget the piece of scripture that I thought I knew. Even though I do not have a good memory I think that even if I memorize for a week only- it could be used for His glory! My students have weekly scripture memory verses that they get tested on and I find that they can retain it in their memories even from the month or two before!
