Absolutely! Memorizing scripture or writing it on note cards and posting them in various places of my house, car or classroom has helped me grow in my faith on a daily basis and encourage my heart throughout my day/life! 🙂

I have memorized scripture and it has impacted my life in many ways. Some scriptures that I learned earlier in life have a newer meaning to my life. They give me comfort and direction. Yes, I have memorized Scripture, though I feel as though I could memorize much more. When I am intentional about memorizing Scripture I find myself unconsciously quoting it to myself and little verses coming to mind here and there during conversations. It seems that when I really know and have studied and memorized a passage, I’m more likely to think of it during a conversation or share it with somone.

When I need to refocus my attention on God, I recite scripture that I have learned. It helps me when I get worried or scared. I helps remind me that God is in control, and I just need to trust him.

I have memorized scripture. It has impacted my life in the quiet moments when my mind may be tempted to wander and think on anything , in the times when I am fearful about something, when something wonderful happens. I am amazed at how, almost unconsciously, a scripture song or chant will pop into my head. If I was consciously filling my mind with things of this world, I am sure that those things would be first to pop in my head as well. We must be purposeful and intentional to study God’s Word so it can minister to us even when we aren’t actively thinking about it.
I have found it much easier to memorize when put to music or in the form of a chant. Other than the Lord’s prayer and the Apostle’s Creed which contains scripture, I did not purposefully memorize scripture until my adult years. I love it that my little students are able to memorize scripture so much easier and faster than I can.
