Most of the Scripture I know verbatim I learned through the hymns. Music is a wonderful tool for learning the Scriptures! Although, I learned the hymns long before I realized in my studies that they were rooted and or echoes of God’s Word. Now, I can consciously engage them and music as a tool for memorizing His Word.

Yes, I have memorized a lot of Scripture. Verses often come to mind during various times of distress.

I have not memorized Scripture verbatim except the beginnings of major portions. At retirement age, I can no longer memorize as when younger. I use many portions of the Bible in speaking with young persons who are in dire circumstances. I can always remember the gist of the parable or the account of Jesus’ teaching, but do have to look it up to be accurate. I am usually able to remember the book and chapter in which to find it though, mostly because of repetitive use. I use the book chapter and verses sometimes in passwords,, so those help me remember key verses.

Yes, there were 6 bible verses that I held on to in my senior year of high school. Memorizing these verses helped me to look back to Jesus during difficult times.
