Have you memorized any Scripture? If so, how has that impacted your life? If not, how do you think you could begin to memorize Scripture?

I have memorized some Scripture – but honestly need to memorize more. Having the scripture in my head and heart allows it to be brought to the surface when needed to be able to share with someone else. Memorized Scripture also puts God’s Work inside of me when I may not be able to get my hands on a physical Bible. I have started writing Scripture on a 3 x 5 note card and placing it on my bathroom mirror, so that I see it often, and can repeat it often.

Yes, memorizing them were very helpful. I still want to memorize them.

I have memorized Scripture verses. The ones that make the most impact are the ones that I have memorized to music. It sticks in your head in a much deeper way, permeating your being. God’s Word never returns void. Even though when I’m memorizing the verse it may not feel that way, God will bring His words to my mind because I have hidden them in my heart. “But this I call to mind and therefore I have hope, the steadfast love of the Lord never ceases” is a good example of this. I know it from a song and the first part of the first reminds me to remind myself!

I have memorized scripture, since I was a young child. It has helped me greatly through tough times. One of the scriptures that has been on my heart in the last few months has been proverbs 3:5- 6. My husband recently passed away very unexpected, it has been very hard on my son and myself. I refer back to this verse almost on a daily basis, I know if I trust in the Lord with all of my heart, I don’t have to understand why, but I know that he is there and he has plans for me. I also utilize verses in the classroom when I’m working with kids when I am trying to tell them that God has created them to be amazing and that they have many talents and gifts. I think it is very important that we teach our young children to memorize the word of God so no matter what situation they are in God’s word will come through to them in the verse that plays over and over in their mind.
