Have you sought to exchange your own human effort for divine strength? What happened?

I have “tried” to do this in the past. I believe that I have identified the flaw in my method. I waited until I was already exhausted as opposed to seeking this exchange at the beginning of spiritual pursuits. My prayer now is Lord, I submit my so-called strength to You in exchange for Your divine strenght, in Jesus Christ’s Name, amen.

Yes. When I hold to that commitment, He has come through in various ways.

I would rephrase the question “exchange your own human effort for divine insight.” I volunteered to read the lesson in a recent Episcopalian service. I floundered and that is something I rarely do. I realized that I had volunteered because I thought I could do it better than the others I had heard. Lesson? I volunteered out of pride in myself not out of a desire to glorify God. Great lesson for me.

I need to focus more on asking God to supply His strength instead of trying to endure each day on my own strength.

Yes, Suddenly something that was almost impossible for me to complete was accomplished with ease.
