Have you sought to exchange your own human effort for divine strength? What happened?

This is something I do frequently. So many times I find myself trying to do things on my own without approaching Him, but when I ask for divine strength, He shows me just how powerful He really is.

I have not recently. I feel into a funk and lately have had a one-sided relationship with God, and little energy for anything else. This is a perfect time and opportunity to try that and see how my life and relationship will change with God.

Studying God’s word helps get my mind off of the things of this world and realize that He is in control. Renewing of my mind through study helps me stay focused on Him.

Yes and probably not intentionally but it turned out like that anyway! My quiet time is in the morning and it often happens that I’m groggy from sleep, tired from the busy-ness of my career, and find I can’t focus on the message or what God is saying. Instead of giving up or cutting the session short, I press on and keep returning my attention and focus to the message. Sure enough – as I talk it through with God, thank Him for what I’m reading, I find myself progressively energized and refreshed. He is truly awesome!!
