Have you sought to exchange your own human effort for divine strength? What happened?

I have. Sometimes if I am very tired or grumpy or distracted, I don’t choose to ask God to exchange that for his divine strength. I think sometimes the first thing is just wanting to ask for it and believing he will do it. I often do ask God to cleanse me and refill me. He has responded by giving me a new perspective, a new love, a new energy, a new confidence…all sorts of things.

I have definitely been put in positions where I have had very little to zero control over what happens next, and have relied on God’s strength and courage, rather than mine. An example has been taking this role with FCA and relying on God for financial support and in so many other ways that are allowing Him to be glorified.

I asked God a long time ago to help me learn Godly wisdom. I have learned to always seek Him first, but I also learned from experience that most humans look at things from human perspective.

I have definitely gone through seasons of my walk with Jesus where I didn’t have the motivation and energy to engage with Him. However, I’m in a season of desiring it! But I’ll remember about the “exchange” if I do feel in that season again.
