Listening is important as you need to understand where they are coming from, why they are asking relates to how you respond in directing your answer. the techniques are very useful and give good guide lines of how to talk to others. In the church I go to while it is accepted that we all believe that Jesus died for us us we do not talk about our faith to others. It is often only in group bible study that we begin to open up about our personal faith but not really a testimony of how we cme to Christ.

I have told others of my faith in Christ, but never felt it was in order to teach them about Him. Listening is so very vital when communicating with others about anything, and is just as important when trying to cultivate someone’s spiritual journey. I have shared my testimony with my church, in prison ministry, and with homeless, and it does have an impact when others can see your sincerity and love.

I have shared my faith in a number of settings. There is always a strong dependence on the Holy Spirit to be sensitive to the specific needs of the person. At times I have been guilty of pushing beyond what the person was ready to hear, and at times too timid to continue the dialogue for fear of “offending.”

I have told others about Christ in the past. The role listening and dialogue played in the interaction is I am an introvert and I realized at times it is important to listen to God’s leading and tell someone he chooses about my struggles and what I’ve overcome. Just having someone listen to me is therapeutic and helps me put things in perspective. Talking about my victories and shortcomings help me to see where I have grown and where I need help. The dialogue helps me trust someone else with my thoughts and aspirations. I had to learn that “No man is an island” and God created humans to be in relationship with Him and others as well. In the future I might use these techniques more effectively to help others the same way I was helped when someone took time to listen to me and then offer Godly advice.

Ive been involved with many efforts over the years of witnessing. The largest trouble I find with it is that over time Christians become isolated within group of Christians. The opportunity to wittness grows less. But we always seem to pass people that need a good word.
