How can you more effectively exude “the fragrance of grace within you” so that others are eager to share their journey with you?

You show Holy passion within you, showing Holy curiosity to really know the other person; broken by the feeling of inadequacy, at the same time embracing your inadequacy as an opportunity to rely on the Holy Spirit.

This is something I long for! I think it comes with humility and loving Jesus with all my heart, soul, strength and mind. It is showing a sacred curiosity, but not being nosy or pushy for info. Allowing the person to choose what they feel safe sharing, not demanding them to share.

I’m still figuring this out! But I do believe that the more broken we are, and the more we have seen the grace of the Lord change us and redeem us, we can understand others’ varying journeys and want to share that healing with them.

When I engage in a conversation, I need to be fully aware of the other person, which includes a balance of listening with open ears and looking at what’s going on in my own interior world. I cannot judge, but rather need to have a spark in my eyes and thought process that conveys, I care about you and what you’re saying. Most importantly, I love Jesus and I see you for your full potential. I see you as God’s whole, healed person of God.

I think a big part initially is to be approachable; to show kindness, respect and appropriate curiosity; treating the person as if they are important and indeed created in the image of God. Next, is truly trying to be open and guided by the Holy Spirit, following His leading and not pressing the person for change.
