How did the principle of two-way communication (prayer and Bible reading) impress you? Why?

I really liked the idea and realization that I can read God’s words and promises to me as well as talking to Him about anything and listening for Him to respond.

A Relationship is a two way communication. After I pray I ask God to reveal to me his truth, His instruction, His correction and guidance for the day. It is a recriprocal union

It’s not just about me expressing my needs and wants and dumping on my Dad. It’s also about being quiet and still a listening for what’s on His heart.

It is best to listen as well as pray, but to listen I think, is best because it is an open opportunity to hear from God.

To consider the Bible as a living, speaking, text directly addressing the circumstances of my life puts a whole new understanding and weight to reading the Bible. The idea of linking what we’ve read in the Bible to our prayer time with God is a great insight for me; It makes sense that if the Word is God speaking to me than He would naturally desire a response from me following my time studying His word.
