Prayer and Bible reading are the ideal communication for building a relationship with God. By reading the Bible God is speaking to us. It is also a way of determining God’s answer to our prayers. When we pray, especially honest prayer, we open up ourselves and our thoughts to Him, making way for Him to respond positively to our needs.

through prayer i am connecting with God. Through bible study I am learning and seeking the Lords words and his ways

Prayer will instill my communion with God and the Word will do that also. In the Word it is instructions or messages from God, it is me listening and taking it in, then the Holy Spirit will give my insights or applications to follow through.

I think I forget sometimes to see the Bible as God’s actual words. I need to remember that He provided it to me as a way to hear from him.

Two way communication allows us the opportunity to both give and receive in a way. Any time that we are reading God’s word and seeking to talk with him is an opportunity to hear God’s heart and exchange your ideas for his. It allows us the opportunity to grow in the grace of our Lord, and to grow as people. I was impressed by the honesty that goes without question in saying that our hearts petitions do not always line up with the word read throughout the day. We should seek what God seeks, and in that we will grow.
