How did the principle of two-way communication (prayer and Bible reading) impress you? Why?

Communication in any relationship is important. As God speaks to us through His Word and we speak to Him in prayer, He aligns our heart with His Word.

It reminded me that often my conversation is just one way and that I don’t always, ashamedly, allow God to communicate with me.

God desires to communicate with us both in his communication to us and our communication to him. God wants to hear from us, we need to be faithful to allow him to speak to us through His Word.

The idea of two-way communication impressed me because it reminded me that a relationship with God is a real deal relationship. Real deal relationships have a back and forth communication where one person speaks and the other responds or vice versa. God speaks through the Bible and we respond through prayer.

It helped me realize that sometimes my prayers were about me. one-way communication; forgetting the most important His Word!
