I think the most impressive thing about prayer and Bible reading as a form of two-way communication is simply that we worship a God who loves us enough to want to communicate with us. God did not have to give us his Word. God does not have to answer us when we call. Who are we to expect anything from God? But God has made a way for us to communicate with Him because of His great love for us and desire to see us restored to Him.

Through Bible readings God speaks to my spirit bring, gives me guidance , wisdom and direction as well as correction in each day of my life. Prayer opens the way for me to communicate to Him in thanksgiving, gratitudes , petitions and supplications. His spirit teaches me how to pray in accordance to His will based on His word. The reason that it impresses me because it is a two ways communication between ma and the Heavenly Father to have a close intimate relationship with him.

I know that God speaks to me and when I listen it is amazing. And when I follow through I receive many blessings. My challenge is to go directly to God before I depend on my own self to try and communicate with Him. I must work on that.

I had never thought of it that way. It was always a one way street for me.

I typically pray before I read my Bible – to prepare my heart for receiving His Word and unloading things on my heart so they don’t distract me while I’m reading, but this lesson helped me realize the importance of spending time in prayer after I read as well…Specifically praying over the passage I just read in response to what God said to me in that passage. That makes sense to communicate back to God what He just communicated to me…like a conversation.
