It reiterated what my pastor keeps telling us that God speaks to us through His word.

I have always known how to communicate with God through prayer but never knew how He would communicate “back” with me – other than through the way my prayers were answered. I knew that reading the Bible was important, now I have a greater sense as to why it is so important.

It makes sense that God would speak to us from His word. There is nothing new He needs to say that hasn’t already been said through the Bible in most instances. I probably shouldn’t expect God to speak to me in a method of my choosing or liking. If He needs to speak to me in another way, He can and will. Otherwise, He doesn’t see it to be necessary.

I like to pray before I study and then pray afterwards, the two way communication right there. Me talking to God and then listening to his word through study. I am slowly seeing it in a different way and it is making a difference when I think of it as two way communication. I also try and give my thanks and prayer for others not just things for me
