How did the principle of two-way communication (prayer and Bible reading) impress you? Why?

I learned to do the principle two-way communication at a later time. In the past I remember it was all about what I wanted and needed. I woke up when a major decision had to be made and I lifted this up to the Lord and waited. When I felt his presence and needed to make the decision, I didn’t like what he wanted me to do, but I did it reminded me of Abrahams story of when God asked him to sacrifice his son. That was a big part of my relationship with God and the time I now spend with Him.

I felt quite guilty after reading that part. I never realized how selfish I was being. I plan to talk to Him often now about what I’m reading/studying and what He wants me to know.

If I don’t study (not just read) the Bible, I feel like my prayers are a one-way conversation with God. Just me talking to Him, making my petitions known, but not hearing from Him. And the only way I can hear from Him is if I study and meditate on His Word.

Yes, prayer and Bible reading always bring God’s message daily. Reading my Bible is His way to communicate with me. Feeling good to pray always and receive spiritual guidance.

I think us human beings make communicating with God so mystical and complicated when this showed how simple it is.
