Yes, it’s simple, when you read the Word of God (the Bible) you are hearing what God is saying and then you can gather together possible applications, etc. Then prayer after bible reading I feel will complete the communication, as you are speaking to God about what you have learned, how this may be of use to you, and then giving thanks to God for His sharing of His word. Additionally, this would be a time to share with God your needs, the needs of others, and asking God for the Holy Spirits’ help in these matters, always giving thanks and willing to hear with an open heart and ears what God may want you to hear.

Two way communication is best in any type of relationship and our relationship with the father is no different

It shows us how to communicate. How to hear and how to be heard. The fact that it is more simple than most people really think it is. It’s not some big glamorous thing he expects from us.

The Christian life is all about communication with our Heavenly Father, without communication in prayer and reading the Bible we won’t be able to know the will of the Father who is heaven. In the christian life we need to read the Bible and pray or else we will never grow in spiritually. It’s really important to have communion with God through prayer and reading His words. That is what impress me.

It got me thinking that prayer should be a dialogue, not a monologue, with the Bible providing God’s part of the conversation. It provides a total new dimension to prayer.
