Just knowing that I’m placed here to prepare and lead my students to have a relationship with God.

This lesson was a great reminder of why I do the work I do. It is a unique calling on my life to help the next generation to understand who they are and where they come from. This calling is not to be taken lightly.

A reminder that I have a unique calling, that God is using me to raise up a generation to know Him and that will have a clear understanding of who they are, where they come from, and where they are going.
A daily reminder that I am educating children for eternity. Just as Christ loved ALL his disciples and travelled with them ALL, even though He knew there was a wolf among them, I have to love ALL my students; including the ones that has been written off by their previous teachers and all the reports from previous classes have been negative both in behavior and in their academics.

The line about God creating me with unique giftings and talents and a special calling to educate children for His purpose resonated with me. Whether I am skip counting numbers during a hopscotch game with my kindergartners, or enjoying a book together, I try to imagine how it should feel if Jesus was the one teaching them, and pray that I am fulfilling His purpose the little way I know.

Knowing that God created me with intent and purpose helps me to live out my calling in my classroom. We are not there only to learn more, but to invest in eternity.
