It’s imperative that I remember each student is created in the image of God, and that my thoughts, words, and actions need to reflect that to them. What I believe about them as well as myself will influence how I weave Scripture into each day’s lesson.

I deal with a few teenagers who are suicidal or prone to self-harming. They often arrive at school devoid of hope. But conversations about how God made them perfectly do help them move on for the day. I will start also concentrating more on the “Who are they; where did they come from; where are they going to” line of thinking.

The concepts of this lesson are the Big questions in life such as Who am I? Where do I come from? What is the Purpose of my life? The Christian teacher has answers to these questions because she has the Biblical knowledge and foundation to guide the students through their growth and development. In all areas of the classroom such as the lesson plans, the classroom routines, the environment, it should reflect what is truly important, acknowledging the child as the creation of God with an eternal soul in need of salvation through Jesus Christ and with the purpose to serve God to reach all people so that everyone come to know Him and love Him.
The Christian Philosophy of education allows the teacher to raise children to have a proper relationship with God. -
In my classroom I teach multiple History subjects and Bible to multiple grades. One of our core values is gospel. I believe that teaching with the gospel in mind helps anwswer the Big questions. As everything we do should be for the golry of God and I love that i can instruct young minds to that way of thinking.

As a high school teacher, I often see students struggling with anxiety and depression. Remembering to reinforce truths about each student’s meaning and value is so important. Each student is a creation of God, has a God-given purpose, has an eternal soul, and is created to know and serve God.
