From a Christian point of view, the important life questions can be part of the classroom by using teachings from the Bible in the lessons, helping students build good character, talking about right and wrong based on Christian values, encouraging kindness and helping others, exploring different beliefs to think critically, using faith in academic work, having chances for prayer and worship, and making an open and respectful atmosphere for discussions. This way, students can learn not only about their studies but also about their faith and how it relates to life.

As a history teacher, it is vital to discuss the ways in which the history of the world correlate to creation and Biblical history, and finding God’s inner-weavings of history.

As an educator, I need to know who I am in Christ and the purpose to which I’m called is to teach others of the Love of God he sent through Jesus Christ. Having an understanding of God’s design, His grace and salvation through Jesus; supports my teaching students from God’s word of their value and worth. Students that understand that they are made in God’s image and they are loved immeasurably by God will help them be motivated to work hard and do all they do for the Glory of God.

The answers to life’s important questions like who am I, where do I belong, what is my purpose, where are we going, what is the meaning of life- these all impact every aspect of work in a Christian educators classroom from lesson formation, to interaction with students, to carrying about the day to day tasks of a teacher. They are immensely important and shape everything related to the classroom.

In our school, we utilize daily devotions to share stories, scriptures, or anecdotes related to morality and faith, effectively simulating students’ thinking and sparking discussions about virtues and beliefs. In addition, we have weekly chapel time, followed by meaningful discussion questions in our home group. During these sessions, we encourage group or individual sharing, fostering an environment of active listening and mutual encouragement. Through this process, I have discovered that students can find valuable support and resonance within the group. A safe place to learn and share. Moreover, as a Christian educator, I am reminded of the concept of calling – the profound calling to fulfill the role of shaping young minds and hearts. I understand leading by example is essential in this journey. I endeavor to demonstrate care, truthfulness, and moral uprightness, motivating students to adopt these qualities in their own lives. By integrating these principles, we establish an educational atmosphere that not only imparts knowledge but also fosters the development of our students’ character and spirituality. While I have to admit that it may be challenging at times, the assistance from colleagues and administrators brings about a meaningful impact.
