These concepts apply really well in my classroom setting as a physical education teacher. Due to me being in a different course environment due to the nature of the subject, I have a unique opportunity to connect on a more personal level with my students. It gives me an opportunity for me to share my story of how God uses me and continues to use me. It then gives the opportunity to help show them how God is already beginning to use them and how they can work with God in understanding who He is and what they can do to be used by Him.

In my classroom, my students are always asking questions. It could be about history, or grammar, etc. It could also be about life and where they come from and what they should do. The Bible answers, in a sense, all of our questions. It is my job to be equipped and know the correct answers to give them that will hopefully lead them closer to eternal life with the Father.

When my husband first showed interest in learning more about a true Christian faith (before we were married) he was encouraged to read the book of John. He frequently returns to John when he has questions. It was interesting to me to find that John was considered to be only a teenager at the time of his calling as every movie/series I have seen shows him as an adult (I have been binge watching The Chosen on repeat lately). To apply what was discussed to my classroom when I get there, I know that when we teach children of all ages that they are valued, what they do, what they choose, who they are around matters and makes a difference, not only in their lives, but in those around them. God has something uniquely for each of them to do, to accomplish, to serve, to whatever His plan is. When they know that there is something set specifically for them and the journey to discovering that and fulfilling it is the substance of our lives, what greater joy can they have, or we as encouragers, in knowing they are in God’s hands fully? My students will know that God is the one whose opinion matters most. He will always be there, even if they feel abandoned, even if they make some bad choices, no matter what, He is with them doing all He can to guide them to a path filled with life!

Lesson planning and classroom discussions will have need to include more intentional Christian goals and perspectives.

My students need to know the answers to the big questions in life. My intention is to make sure they know the answers, and that they fulfill their God-given role here in this life.
