How do we know the Pope is not the head of the church?

The Bible celebrates the uniqueness of Jesus Christ as the one responsible for building His church (Matthew 16). He has been given all authority and all dominion and is the head of His church, His bride (Ephesians 1).
The pope is not the head of the church. Like you and I, the pope was born dead in sin and is fallible. He commits sin and may even endorse things that are false when he’s speaking. He also needs to confess sins and embrace Jesus the Savior.
