How do you currently encourage your students to find their God-given calling?

I like to think that I encourage them in their interests and callings. One way is by going to see them in their sports games and musicals, praised their art work, etc. When I taught 5th grade, a specific course loved to teach and so they came up with mini-lessons that they taught to the other elementary students during the 1st week of January. That practice still continues today. Another course were really enthusiastic worshippers and so they began leading worship at chapels.

I support their interests and God-given talents. For instance, I have a student who is very artistic and loves to draw. She started her own little business making and selling greeting cards. I supported her by buying some off of her and sharing them with friends and family. I also encourage them to continue prayer for God’s guidance in their lives and remind them to listen for His replies and signs. I share my story as well of how He lead me to where I am today.

Many of my middle schoolers have already decided what they want to do when they grow-up. I encourage them to continue to put forth their best effort in areas of academics that aren’t their favorites to help them reach these dreams.

Encouragement is offered by helping them to recognize their strengths, such as identifying which subjects or activities seem effortless, enjoyable, and fulfilling. They also have to set goals and work towards building their weaker areas.

Make learning about God fun and add activities. Give second chances. Let them give self-expression especially in group sessions everyone gets a chance to ask questions and speak. Be aware for opportunities to teach and to learn also from your students. Live and teach by God’s principles. Let the student tell their testimonies. I like doing arts and crafts with the students and seeing the uniqueness of each of their crafts.
