As young people, I encourage them to expose themselves to different activities, tasks, places, and people to find their real calling.

I remind my students that they are all uniquely made. God made each of us different with different gifts. I will tell them some of you are really good at reading, and some of you are really good at math, or some of you are really good at drawing. These are gifts God gave you. Then I ask the kids, “Do you know why God gave you the gifts he did?” I tell them, God gave you these gifts so you will use them to bring honor and glory to his name.

We discuss concrete ways to use our passions to glorify God, so that they can start to see that their gifts can be used towards a calling.

I encourage students to seek out God in prayer to see how they can use their talents for him. Often times when discussing their futures (I teach high school) I will encourage the students to be willing to change their life plans if God calls them to something other than what they were planning on doing.

I encourage my students to pray and seek God to show them what their calling is. I help them to foster there already existing love of a topic by showing them different career paths or resources that help them to see how God can be glorified in their love of a specific topic.
