How do you currently encourage your students to find their God-given calling?

1 don’t think I have done a great job with this but look forward to doing it more in the coming year. I do spend time talking with students about their passions, talents and what they hope to do in the future, I’ve just not done it surrounded with the idea of using their God given gifts and calling

As I teach about different topics in the science field, I explain that some of the students may be trained in that field and this is the beginning of that training. For example, when I discussed space exploration, I told them that some of them may become astronauts and if they work hard, study scientific fields and pray for the Lord’s direction, they can achieve their goals. Daily I encourage them to pray without ceasing, from their hearts, sharing all their feelings and thoughts, and listening to His voice. God wants to speak to them deep things about their lives and His heart.

I teach all of my second graders that we all have different gifts and talents from the Lord. I reiterate all throughout the year that what may be easy for some may be hard for others, and vice versa. I continue to share with them that they are all fearfully and wonderfully made and God has a specific job for them to do for Him to bring Him glory. Proverbs 3:5-6 is repeated often to help them understand that the Lord will guide their steps!

I encourage them to look at talents and passions. I point out that in whatever they do they must be a Christian first and recognize that they are under the Great Commission.

As a counselor I am able to sit with individual students and help them through assessments and tools to find out how their personalities fit into different roles. I encourage students to explore different roles that fit their personality.
