I talk to my students about understanding what makes them unique. We discuss Biblical characters and what made each character a good example for us in our lives. I try to encourage the students to look at what they are good at and how they can use that to help others.

I encourage students to try new things. I believe one of the best ways to find a talent from God is being open to trying all types of things to see where God has blessed you in. Many students believe they are not creative, thus I encourage my students to look to the Lord and see how He has made us all to be creative in our unique ways.

Currently, I encourage my students to find their calling in a number of ways. One specific way is that I remind them often that each of them were made on purpose, with a purpose. I also seek to provide opportunities in the classroom for student to sharpen the skills that they may need in order to walk in their God-given calling. I call out the good characteristics that God has gifted them with and encourage them to know God above all, and He will help them discover who they are in Him.

I teach the students about the power of prayer and studying God’s word to draw close to the Holy Spirit. In doing so, the students will learn about their spiritual gifts and will sense God’s prompting and leading in their lives. The more time they spend with God, the more they will feel his guiding in their lives.

Discussions of how they will integrate into the workforce. How will they contribute to society, how will they use their talents? These are questions that are used to foster conversations. Success can come just by being and doing. We all must do somethings we don’t like and that is okay. We can be good at somethings and have no interest in doing them. Being a Godly Contributer to and in society is a must, being a resentful and ungrateful taker in society is not Godly. The path God has for us may be together one moment and separated until the Kingdom is completed in eternity. Regardless of who or where we are, we must shine, as if Christ was our boss. We must do all unto the Glory of God, be the best trash collector we can be, if that is how we are called.
