How do you feel about developing biblically integrated units/lessons? Overwhelmed? Excited? Hesitant? Explain.

I’m excited and overwhelmed at the same time. I have a whole new curriculum to teach this year and really don’t know where to start. But I am very excited at the opportunity that I have to be able to integrate a Biblical worldview into my lessons and come up with ideas and being creative as I look for ways to infuse the curriculum with God’s truth.

I feel excited! Of course I have an easier task than most because I teach Bible so my entire course is Biblically integrated. I do love the idea of viewing the learning content through the lens of a Biblical worldview. In my Church History course I sometimes have to infuse some of that back in because a lot of it is straight forward historical events and facts. We have to stop and think about these things from Biblical perspective.

I’m good with this. This is what we do. We start from the unit level and work down to daily lesson planning. All of this is done online. Students access their homework, reading and quizzes, and tests online. Homework is also done online. Bible integration is required across all subjects.

I look at this as an exciting task that calls me to be very creative. My main curriculum I develop is for Middle School PE dance course. This can be challenging but I enjoy finding new ways to integrate God’s word-through praise and worship and through examples in dance history of dance pieces that were done in a biblical worldview to praise God through this talent that certain people were given by Him.

I am so excited about developing biblically integrated units/lessons. Coming from a public education myself, and then teaching in a public school, I am amazed and eager to learn that a biblical perspective can actually be integrated in ALL subjects. It is a wonderful thing to be able to teach students a strong biblical foundation amongst their elementary subjects.
