I have taught elementary art for the public school system for 18 years and I have boxes of lesson plans with the objectives, materials, and process already organized. I am slowly trying to integrate Biblical concepts to as many of those plans as I can. That is not hard to do.
I am teaching middle and high school for the first time ever. That alone has been a little overwhelming, but I am taking it step by step to develop units and lessons that meet my objectives and include as many Biblical concepts as possible. -

Mapping out my year and aligning the standards I need to teach helps me feel so organized and prepared and I am able to begin each unit with confidence in what I need to accomplish in teaching. I am blessed that we have curriculum that naturally integrates biblical standards already so I don’t have to start from scratch there. I also have found because I have mapped out my year and I have lined out what is the most important in each chapter it makes my daily lesson plans easier. I don’t plan day by day or even week by week (though I also review at the end of each week and adjust as needed). Instead I plan a whole chapter of daily lessons at one time and this saves me so much planning!

Deleted User06/18/2021 at 13:33I am excited about it. I have always looked at teaching in a Christian school as a ministry, and I want to model Christ and invest in the students. But this is another proactive way to pass on a biblical worldview to the next generation. When I used to teach 6-12. I would get the students and just as I was getting to know them they would graduate and I am working on the next 6th grader. If I can integrate the biblical worldview into all my subjects it would be a wonderful investment in the students for the short time I have them. It does seem a little overwhelming but I can take my time and add a little by little.
