I feel ready to make this a focus this year. I have moved past the first year or two of “survival mode” and look forward to integrating more Bibilical application into my lessons.

The task of typing up a seven step lesson plan for each lesson throughout the day is more daunting than actually integrating the Bible into each lesson I teach. I love the Bible and including biblical principles in every lesson. I would say it comes “naturally” but, it comes from years of reading and studying the Bible. I choose to teach in a Christian school because I am restricted from pointing students to Jesus and His Word in public schools. I am excited to integrate the Bible in each lesson.

The task does seem daunting, but with the information shared it will be easier this year.

We already use Bible based curriculum and each unit opens up with a verse. Now I feel excited and can be more intentional in presenting and exploring that verse instead of just tussling with multiple verses and deciding which one to focus on for weekly memory verses. Now I can incorporate them throughout the unit levels.

I’m excited. I have been doing this for the past three years in my classes. It is always a joy to make real biblical connections to the literature I am teaching. I love to challenge my students to make connections from what we are reading to scripture; and compare and contrast characters from their reading to events or people in the Bible.
