I feel excited. I believe that this will level-up my classes in general in order to be Christ-centered and biblically based and reflect Christ more to my students on a day to day basis.

Overwhelmed… As a new teacher I feel like this is a whole different way of preparing for each lesson. I feel very lost and confused about how to even begin the process in a graphic arts classroom. I am committing to trying to figure this out for my classes to help guide my students.

I think that developing biblical integration into units and lessons is also a faith journey where we are trusting the Holy Spirit to guide us in the ways we speak to our students, pray with our students, and see our students as image bearers of God. I’m excited to see how God is not only going to grow my students in the coming year, but how he is going to grow me through this process.

As I gain more experience and receive more training, I am gaining more confidence and am feeling more excited about developing biblically integrated units. It is a slow process over time to rather than one major change.

As this is only my second year teaching at a Christian school, I absolutely love the requirement of including my biblical application into my lessons. This is so refreshing from my previous teaching experiences, as I’ve taught in only public schools before now. Because I am required to include biblical integration in my lesson plans, it forces me to plan and be purposeful in how I am including biblical worldview shaping through my lessons. This is definitely an area I need to grow in, though, as I have not had a lot of practice.
