How do you feel about developing biblically integrated units/lessons? Overwhelmed? Excited? Hesitant? Explain.

I am truly blessed and Excited to have been given the assignment of teaching and integrating biblical knowledge in a Christian school. It brings Joy to my heart. Teaching in a Christian school also gives me practice and more time to study God’s word.

Honestly this is a relatively easy thing to think through because I teach Bible. The main struggle is to make sure that, because this is the case, I do not become complacent in trying to be relevant and innovative as I teach the most important subject at our school.

I am brand new and have yet to put this into practice. I am overwhelmed, but excited about the freedom and ability to directly connect the Bible to the curriculum in my classroom.

I’m excited because it is only going to get me MORE into the Scriptures and God’s word and that can only be of benefit. One reason why I decided to teach at a Christian school was to help strengthen my relationship with Christ. It can’t come out of us, if it’s not in us.

I have a lot of feelings. Overwhelmed, anxious, excited, and curious. Overwhelmed because as a new teacher, I still have so much to learn and to add on one other thing seems like being a teacher might be too much work for me. Anxious because I have no idea where to start. I wish there were recorded lectures I could watch, example lesson plans, and especially how to integrate the bible into computer science. I’m excited because from what this course has been teaching me, I would love for all my lessons to teach students how to be servants of God, to love others, and for them to learn about God as much as or more than computer science. Curious too because I became Christian later in life, so I was never exposed to a Christian school until just last year. I’m really curious to see how even in the classroom that is not a Bible course, how students can learn about God and learn how to be like Christ.
