My units teaching art center around the medium being used. Most of my integration is when we discuss great works of art. We look for what is good, beautiful, and True – the bigger truths. What does God say about what is going on in the painting? What is being communicated? Those kinds of questions and discussions are where we get the most authentic Biblical integration in art. I also often remind students that we do art, because we imitate the Great Artist.

I am truly blessed and Excited to have been given the assignment of teaching and integrating biblical knowledge in a Christian school. It brings Joy to my heart. Teaching in a Christian school also gives me practice and more time to study God’s word.

Honestly this is a relatively easy thing to think through because I teach Bible. The main struggle is to make sure that, because this is the case, I do not become complacent in trying to be relevant and innovative as I teach the most important subject at our school.

I am brand new and have yet to put this into practice. I am overwhelmed, but excited about the freedom and ability to directly connect the Bible to the curriculum in my classroom.
