How do you imbed the fruit of the Spirit into your classroom? Or, if you haven’t previously considered this, how might you go about it now?

Pointing out when someone displays a fruit of the spirit. So often we tell what not to do instead of encourage what should be done and why.

With compassion, patients, kindness, gentleness, and seeing Jesus in others knowing I am not perfect but bringing the love of Jesus to their table and life so they will know the love of Jesus. What’s beautiful is seeing God working in them and also they in turn could teach us something along the way that we don’t see in ourselves.

I would be sure to have the fruits of the Spirit visible in the classroom. We could discuss each one- what is it, how does it look when applied. I think by doing this the students and myself can demonstrate it regularly. I think it will help each of us grow closer to the image of God

Students are to choose from one of the 9 fruits of the spirit in Galatians 5:22-23 every week and embark on a personal service which they are to account for and talk about at the end of the week. This report can be delivered in writing or verbal or slide presentation weekly.

Pointing out that it is a work of the Spirit is important, that it is not natural. Many atheists are kind and kindness is a fruit of the spirit, so explaining that true fruit of the Spirit is a growth from the heart of what God is doing is vital. Not every student at a Christian school is a Christian and sometimes they can be compliant without being Christian. We need to be very clear on the difference. We need to demonstrate fruit when we see it and also point out the opposite from a student that claims to be a believer.
