How do you imbed the fruit of the Spirit into your classroom? Or, if you haven’t previously considered this, how might you go about it now?

We talk about the Fruits of the Spirit frequently and our student of the month awards are based on the Fruits!

Fruits of the spirit are our character traits in our small groups. We focus on a new one each month. I like them because they are authentic and *should* surface in our every day lives. We look for examples within the past week to check in on how we are doing!

From the beginning of the year, we review the traits of the fruit of the Spirit in my classroom. I praise students who follow these traits. Then every month we have chapel in which we choose students who have shown the fruit of the Spirit in course, school and outside of school. We give students an award.

Each month we focus on a different fruit of the Spirit and at the end of the month our course nominates who they felt displayed that fruit well.

We have a classroom motto of J.O.Y. Jesus first, others second, you third. When we actually practice it the fruit blossoms.
