I meed to remember the “big picture.” Not just my course, but after!

As a creation of God, I need to ensure my influences, actions, etc… demonstrate my role as a creation of God.

Having answers to these questions, and knowing how to explain WHY I believe the truths that I know is critical in disseminating information and to knowing what to teach and why.

Whether explicitly or implicitly, how I answer “the big questions of life” shapes and informs ALL aspects of my behavior, both in and outside the classroom. It directly shapes how I perceive and interact with others: students, colleagues, parents, caregivers, community members, etc. It informs my curricular choices, what topics are covered and how I choose to approach them, assessment strategies, as well as the choice of visuals and manipulatives. It is humbling to recognize that there is no aspect of my role as an educator that is not affected by how I answer “the big questions of life”.

Is very important that Christian educators be able to help our students with these questions. No matter where they grew up or how many resources they may have, they should know that they are God’s creations and He has a plan for each of them. With these concepts deep planted in their minds, they will be able to face the hardships of life and fulfill Go’s plan for them.
