Many of the big answers of my life if not all have been in some way answered from God’s word. In Christ, as teachers, we can help young students find those answers there for this life and the one to come.

As a teacher of 11 years, I have answered numerous questions “about life” and have found that only a Christian Philosophy of Education can offer the right answers. I love seeing my students’ eyes light up whenever I tell them that they were created for a special purpose by God and that He delights in knowing them personally-that there is no question too big or small for Him. I want my students to know that God invites us to ask the deep questions of life in order to draw us closer to Him. I want my students to know that God uses those big questions to help us understand Him, as well as ourselves, better.

As a Christian educator I should be pointing my students back to God and his plan for each of us. My instruction should instill a desire to pursue the purposes God has laid out for them and to grow in their passion to seek out and follow God’s desires.

As a mature Christian I know who I am. I am the daughter of the King, God Almighty! He created me with a purpose, and I want to instill in my students that this is true for them too. God created us to have a relationship with Him. He wants us to know Him and to serve Him. He created each one of us unique and with unique gifts. He wants us to use the gifts He has given us to glorify Him and to lead others to Him so they too can spend eternity with Him.

The answers to the “big questions of life” influence my perspective as a whole. As an educator, that perspective is constantly going to point my students back to Him. It allows me to remind them all that they are wonderfully made and have a purpose within His plan.
