The Bible has definite answers for who I am, where I came from, and my ultimate purpose and destiny. My perception of reality derives completely from these answers. And as a result my teaching is based on my perception of reality.

I know this is my calling and that God has given me a love for these children. I know I have been given the position to pour into these student’s lives the truth of God’s love for them.

The big question of life is usually WHY… My answer to how it influences my role as an educator is that we are made in God’s image, with a purpose to serve Him in His kingdom, for His Glory.

The “big questions in life” influence my role as an educator because how I answer these questions confirm my faith in God and my purpose of my existence. If we do not understand, we can not help our students understand.

Life is full of mysteries, things that had happened and things that are yet to come. No one will know why certain things happen, especially when bad things happen to God’s people, we often question where God is and why He didn’t spare us from the misery. One thing for sure though, when we put our trust and hope in the Lord, we have an assurance that He will carry us through them all and hopefully we will grow in faith. The discussion we have with students (which often happens outside of the classroom setting) will help us get this message across to them, by sharing our personal life experiences and reminding them how God loves each one of us and that we are created for a purpose in this world.
