The fact that I am a child of God and that he has a purpose for me and what I am doing is comforting but overwhelming. It means that I have to watch what I do and say and what kind of role model I am. The children are influenced by those ideas as well and need to know that they will guide their lives and help them to fulfill their purpose in time. As an educator, I have to be able to help them to find their purpose and investigate this big questions and find their own answers.

The big questions of life have influenced the decisions of people throughout the generations. Having a Christian Philosophy to mold the ideas and beliefs of our children will direct their present and future decisions. In doing so, they will fulfill the purposes and callings anointed by God over their lives. What a beautiful thought… that our teaching aligned with biblical principles are influencing the Life Choices of our youth.

I am a Creation of God. I was created with intention and purpose. I am called to love God and to love others. He has also called me to be an educator. I am called to equip young people with knowledge and wisdom. I believe I am fulfilling my purpose on a daily basis. These beliefs drive me to be the best that I can be in the role that God has placed me in.

Who am I? –> This question helps me remember that I am God’s servant. There are many reasons why I do what I do, but ultimately I am in this position, at this time, to serve God in this teaching role.
Where did I come from? –> This questions helps me remember that my path to Jesus is not easily summarized. He pursued me and I took many wrong turns until I was able to connect and engage with Him. I must remember that Jesus pursues each of my students uniquely.
Where am I going? –> This question helps me remember that I have do continually watch my steps and check frequently to see whether my footprints are leading me to or away from God. I do this by reflecting on my interactions with students and considering whether I am leading them to or away from God.
What is the meaning of life? –> This question helps me remember to follow a higher purpose and not to lean on my own understanding.

The answer to these big questions influence me as an educator in that I need to intentionally teach my students these answers from a biblical standpoint. I have seen students swayed by popular opinions and current social trends. As an Christian educator, I want to teach them to probe into these ideas and God’s Word. I want them to learn to find answers and hope for themselves not from culture and society, but from God as He has revealed Himself through the Bible. So as I answer these questions from God’s perspective, I can model for them, guide them and enable them to answer these big questions. If I wam wavering with these questions, how can I guide them? This is a good reminder to be in God’s Word and evaluating my own thoughts and desires.
