He created me with specific gifts and for a purpose, and I believe I’m living out that purpose as a Christian educator. I felt called by God to go back to school and become an educator. I believe he led me down a path that brought me to the school where I teach. Working with children gives us an opportunity to instill in them the understanding that they’re all perfectly created with their own special gifts and created for a purpose.

If we do not think and pray about these questions, we are not well positioned to answer the questions of our students, let alone be able to guide them in their faith.

It is not uncommon for students to ask these questions. This is particularly true in the upper levels. Although, I have found Middle Schoolers ask tough questions too. It brings up the fact that we should always be prepared for these things. However, rather than just knowing and producing the answer, we should point them to the Bible and assist them in finding it themselves.

This has a direct influence on my worldview and purpose as educator. This sustains me to know that I am called by God and I serve Him in the process.

They should shape my teaching, they should help me understanding the meaning behind what I am doing.
