To fully listen to their questions and to not condemn the students when they ask the hard questions.

My goal as a teacher is to be a facilitator. If we are open to discuss and model the “big questions” we will have achieved our purpose.

Teachers have so much influence in how they conduct themselves. By showing grace like God does, by being patient, kind to others, showing love, we show the children how God wants us to behave. When we are anchored in who we are and our purpose in life, we emulate that for our students in how we act and interact with them.

I need to be in a constant walk with God and to be sensitive to hear when those big questions are asked. To remember how it feels to have those questions and to be able to show that you believe that you are a child of God and made in his image.

Knowing that myself and every other person are created in God’s image compels me to treat them with respect and care. I want to help students identify their God given uniqueness and live His best life for them.
