We are supposed to think from an eternal perspective that considers life the way God originally intended. We are to value heavenly things instead of earthly gain.

Of the six points discussed by Jesus, only one truly has to do with our desires; Beyond that, all the other elements of the Lord’s Prayer focus on aligning our hearts with God in praise, thinking through His desires, requesting strength to do His will, and forgiving us for our failures to honor Him, while requesting the ability to not fall into temptation into the future.
